PIF ensures 2 Years of Professional Work Experience

The Swiss Professional Degree (Hôtelière-Restauratrice/Hôtelier-Restaurateur HF) prepares students for pursuing management roles through accredited theoretical curriculum, practical skills training and professional work experience, Graduating from EHL SSTH gives you a competitive edge through the professional work experience integrated into your studies.

Flexible Internship Program

To obtain the EHL SSTH Swiss Professional degree you will be required to complete two years of hospitality work experience as per the qualification standard set by the Swiss Federal accreditation. We are flexible in shaping the right path for you to build up the required work experience by offering internships.

Applicants with hospitality work experience are given credit towards the total time required for completing the Swiss Professional Degree of up to one year (work certificates required).

lf you have 1-year work experience, you will have 12 months of internships:

• 6-month paid internship in Switzerland in an operational position
• 6-month paid management internship in Switzerland or abroad in a supervisory position.

lf you have 6-months work experience, you will have 18 months of internships:

• 6-month paid internship in Switzerland in an operational position
• 12-month paid management internship in Switzerland or abroad in a supervisory position.

lf you have no prior work experience, you will have to complete a Professional Internship Foundation (PIF) semester at Passugg plus 18 month internship as above.

lnternships in Switzerland are paid at an average salary of CHF 2212 per month.
